Franklin can be found on the stretch of I-65 with Nashville 20 miles to the North. It was named as "The South's Prettiest Towns" by Southern Living. It was formed in October of 1799. Named after one of the founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin. Franlin was established by Abram Maury Jr. (a state senator at the time) Franlin Tennessee is part of Williamson county (named after Dr. Hugh Williamson - a member of the continental congress)
